“Taking the lead on managing your health through lifestyle”

“TAKING THE LEAD ON MANAGING YOUR HEALTH THROUGH LIFESTYLE”

The objective of the workshop ‘Taking the lead on managing your health through lifestyle’ is to make employees aware of taking the lead on health and offering them perspectives to take action. During this short, practical session, the participants are made aware, inspired, challenged and informed in an interactive way about the influence of their lifestyle on the vitality they experience.

Content

Prior to this 2-hour workshop, participants complete the integral lifestyle questionnaire we developed online. This gives them direct insight into where they currently stand in six lifestyle areas of which it has been scientifically proven that they mutually interact and influence our vitality. These areas are: nutrition, exercise, stress reduction, job satisfaction, social relationships and finding meaning/spirituality (see image).

They will bring the results of this test to the meeting, where this first awareness stimulus is followed by information about why and how these six lifestyle areas influence their vitality.

However, knowledge does not automatically result in will, and will does not automatically result in taking action. That is why the participants are then challenged to explore their intrinsic motivation together. Next, they will formulate one or more practical, achievable steps to feel more vital, at work and at home. This is the first step towards structural behavioural change, in order to achieve a healthier, happier and more vital life, with increased sustainable employability.

Result

At the end of this training, employees will have basic insight in:

  • their current vitality level in essential areas of their life;
  • how the six lifestyle areas influence each other and our vitality;
  • their intrinsic motivation to change behaviour in one or more lifestyle areas;
  • what they will work on to achieve a higher level of vitality.
